Dear Old City Neighbors and Friends,

In the heart of Philadelphia's historic Old City, a battle is brewing—one that will determine the fate of our beloved neighborhood. Concerned Old City Neighbors (COCN) stands at the forefront of this fight, advocating for the preservation of our community against the proposed Greyhound bus terminal at the Autopark garage on S. 2nd Street.

A Matter of Equity and Compassion

We wholeheartedly support Mayor's initiative to activate an intercity bus terminal as a matter of equity and compassion. However, we firmly believe that any site selection must prioritize the needs of both bus patrons and operators, as well as consider the impact on our community. It should never be a rushed decision driven solely by speed, cost, and convenience.

Community Impact Matters

The Autopark site is inherently incompatible with the character of Old City. Our streets and infrastructure simply cannot accommodate the influx of diesel-powered buses, thousands of passengers, and the accompanying local transportation needs. The strain on our roads and infrastructure would be immense, threatening the very fabric of our neighborhood and compromising the quality of life for residents and businesses alike.

Your Voice Matters

But we are not without hope. Together, we can make a difference. We urge you to join us in our fight to protect Old City by signing our petition opposing the proposed bus terminal. This is not just about preserving a piece of history; it's about safeguarding the future of our community for generations to come.

Take Action Today

Your signature is more than just a name on a petition; it's a symbol of solidarity, a testament to our collective determination to preserve the heart of Old City. Together, we can send a powerful message to decision-makers that our community's well-being cannot be sacrificed for the sake of corporate convenience.
